Chassidus
The daily learning schedule begins with a chassidus shiur given by Rabbi Yehudah Hoch. His shiur is divided into two sections. The first half is a Tanya shiur which systematically covers many chapters in Tanya exploring topics such as emunah, simcha, hashgocha protis, the makeup of the neshama and finding meaning in all of life's challenges. Questions and participation is encouraged to help the girls have a better understanding.
Tanya is followed by a session delving into maamarim of the Rebbe relating to the particular time of the year. This session helps further develop understanding of concepts in chassidus with a focus on their translation into practical avodah. The maamarim series is sometimes delivered through lecture style and sometimes chavrusa style, whereby the girls challenge themselves by learning the maamar in pairs or small groups. At the end of the session, Rabbi Hoch reviews the maamar with the group as a whole and clarifies any questions. By combining chavrusa style into this series the girls reading, translating and explaining skills are strengthened.
